Family Ministry

MarriedPeople

The MarriedPeople Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Gray seeks to inspire and equip married people to desire and have great marriages so that the world may see God.

…because having a great marriage can’t wait.

Our adopted marriage strategy created by MarriedPeople is part of First Baptist's Family Ministry’s overall Orange Strategy with a focus on coming alongside families. Below you will find information about our marriage strategy and components that go along with it. The focus of our strategy is on the Core 4 Habits to a Great Marriage.

We believe every couple can make marriage incredible by committing to engage in the 4 Core Habits:

Have Serious Fun – Having fun as a couple is not just something extra, it’s essential. In fact, we believe the best way to protect your marriage is to enjoy it.

Respect and Love - Of the few verses God gives to husbands and wives, the directive to respect and love is commanded more than any other. And when we understand the interplay between respect and love, the truth really can set us free.

Love God First - When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment, His answer was to love God with all you are, then to love others with all you are. Loving God in your individual life greatly impacts your married life.

Practice Your Promise - We made a big promise when we said, "I do." Our spouses trusted that we would do what we promised to do to love each other and to stay together no matter what. Knowing that commitment is still there is vital to every marriage.

How Do We Help Couples With These 4 Core Habits?

Inspiring Married Couples in Large Group Gatherings. These are called MarriedPeople Night Out or Live.  These nights are made to help you connect with each other, & other couples. Come play games, laugh, and be  inspired through teaching you won’t find on a typical Sunday morning.

Empowering Small Groups. We have a host of Sunday School groups that are ready for you to connect with and 4 times during the year we will all take a break from whatever we are studying to focus on one of the habits.

Equipping Individual Couples. This happens in two ways - Monthly E-Zine and Date Nights.

MarriedPeople Monthly

We will send you a monthly E-Zine (yes - just once a month) on the first Monday of the month that is a mush-free email full of ideas and insights that sparks great conversations and helps you laugh so that you will be encouraged, we promise.

No. Seriously. We will have childcare, games, great food, give aways, photo booths, and a hilarious speaker, Ted Lowe.

And guys we promise we are not going to beat you up, promise.

And finally, while everybody’s US is unique, we are going to look at one thing that is powerful for every marriage.

So, you may be wondering who is this for? Is it for newly marrieds, couples with kids, couples without kids, couples in crisis? This event is everyone who is married, that’s who it’s for. Can’t wait to see you there.

Date Nights

MarriedPeople Date Nights

Yes, date nights are easier than you think. And now we have made it really easy. We have a date for you. All you need to do is come to the church, drop off your kids for child-care (dinner included) and pick up a Date Night bag.

In the bag you will find step-by-step instructions, fun questions and other fun surprises like restaurant coupons.

It's not therapy and guys, it's mush free. It's simply designed for you to laugh, learn and affirm each. You are going to love it.

You may be wondering who is this for? Is it for newly marrieds, couples with kids, couples without kids, couples in crisis? Nope, it's for every married couple, because every couple needs to have some serious fun. Every married couple needs to go on fun dates.
